Privacy Policy

1. Data we collect

• Account details you give us: your full name and email address.
• Your password. We never store it as you typed it; we keep only a secure, one-way hash that cannot be turned back into your password.
• Account activity: when your account was created or updated, and when you last logged in.
• Basic technical logs our servers create when something goes wrong, used only to keep the service working.

2. Data we do not collect

• We do not use advertising or analytics tools, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
• We do not collect your location, contacts, photos or files.
• We do not sell your personal data.

3. Why we use your data

We process your data on the basis of the consent you give when you create an account. You can withdraw consent at any time by asking us to delete your account.

• To create your account and let you log in securely.
• To show your name and email in the app.
• To protect your account, for example by checking your current password before it is changed.
• To comply with the law.

4. How your data is stored and protected

Your account data is stored in our database (servers located in India). Access is restricted, and data sent between the app and our servers should always use an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.

When you log in, the app receives a temporary access token that expires after a short time. The app keeps it only while it is open, so closing the app logs you out.

5. Sharing

We do not share your personal data with anyone, except service providers who host or run the service for us (and only as needed for that), or when the law requires it.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account exists. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal data unless the law requires us to keep some of it for longer.

7. Your rights

Under Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:

• Ask what personal data we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct or update it.
• Ask us to delete your account and personal data.
• Withdraw your consent.
• Nominate another person to act for you in case of death or incapacity.
• Raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer (below), and then with the Data Protection Board of India if it is not resolved.

8. Children

LekhMitra is meant for working professionals and is not intended for anyone under 18.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date and, for important changes, tell you in the app before they apply.
